Keeping Karlsson Episode 19 - Guess Who’s Back

It’s the final Keeping Karlsson episode of the Olympic break and Elan and Brian bring a jammed packed show with advice you’ll want to hear before the fantasy season resumes. The episode begins with a discussion of some of the key injuries that have occurred recently, including Tavares, Martin and Zuccarello, and how they will impact the players around them. Some tips are given on how to take advantage of your leaguemates who have suffered these injuries.


Next the guys run down a list of players who will be coming back from injury when (or soon after) the season resumes, and give insight into how each of them will fair. Players discussed here include Marian Gaborik, Evander Kane, Mikko Koivu, Tomas Vokoun, Pekka Rinne and Stephen Weiss.


Brian rounds out the show with a recap of the Keeping Karlsson Olympics pool, revealing the medalists as well as some surprising box results.

Keeping Karlsson Episode 18 - Owning the Pod(cast)ium

With the Olympics going on there isn’t a whole lot to work with, but this week’s episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast still offers up a nice helping of fantasy hockey advice. We begin with our headlines, including some Olympic injury casualties and how they may affect their NHL teammates, as well as another record set by Teemu Selanne.


Sticking with the Olympic theme, some notable early strong performers are discussed including Olli Maata and Michael Grabner. Brian provides an update on the current Keeping Karlsson Olympic Pool standings and discusses which boxes currently have the most surprising leaders.


Outside of the Olympics the guys discuss some trade strategy for their pools and critique a couple of trades involving Jaromir Jagr, P.A. Parenteau, Clarke MacArthur and Matt Moulson.


Speaking of trades, Brian shares something interesting he noticed in the URLs for proposed trades in Yahoo fantasy leagues that may help you gauge the trading activity in your league.

Keeping Karlsson Episode 17

Keeping Karlsson Episode 16

The guys bring a slightly new format for episode 16 of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast. The show begins with headlines from the past week in fantasy hockey. In this segment Elan and Brian give their take on Ben Scrivens’ 59 save shutout, Tomas Fleischmann and P.A. Parenteau’s healthy scratches, Stamkos coming back and how that will affect the other lightning players, and the Sedin and Kane injuries.


Next comes updates on the hosts’ pools, with special attention given to Darcy Kuemper, Steve Mason, Scott Hartnell, Kyle Okposo, Phil Kessel and Jarome Iginla.


Questions from Reddit and Twitter are discussed involving players including David Perron, Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek and Cory Schneider. This is followed by some sleepers and snoozers, where the hosts analyze the likes of Travis Zajac, Mikael Granlund, Lars Eller and Chris Kreider.
