No. 61 - Full Season Streakers, Pt. 1

The Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast returns this week to kick off our 2015 Offseason Series!

Our first summer episode of the year zeroes in on scorers who surprised with season-long streaks-- although the evidence suggested their production would taper off, they kept on tallying points from October all the way through to April

Elan and Brian turn the spotlight to these streakers, and then take a look at the deeper numbers to tell you what you really want to know: can you count on these guys to do it all over again next year?

Players discussed on this week's episode include Nick Foligno, Rick Nash, Jiri Hudler, Jack Johnson, Michael del Zotto, and more.

No. 60 - What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Benn

The regular season came to a close last night, but the lights are still on at KKHQ! Elan and Brian recap the final week's delights and disappointments on the 60th edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast!

Elan and Brian begin by giving props to Jamie Benn for winning this year's scoring race, and discuss how this will affect his standing amongst the league's elite come next year's draft order. Brian also comments on the league-wide downward trend in point-scoring.

We then have a look at who rested in their team's final games, and whether or not it's worth tinkering with your pool's format to avoid feeling the effects of surprise late-season scratches.

We also call out a few stars who may have let their owners down when it mattered the most, as well as a few depth guys that stepped up with heroically huge weeks and months down the stretch.

Before closing the show, we give you a heads up about what to expect over the course of our 2015 Offseason Series (note that episodes will be coming out bi-weekly over the summer!). Elan is declared the knowingest know-it-all even though he lost another bet already, and he immediately puts his title on the line as the guys make their Stanley Cup predictions.

And finally, things get a little silly as we offer up our final round of tributes to the eliminated and hearty congratulations to the champions amongst us.

Thank you for listening, subscribing, reviewing, tweeting, chatting and patronizing all year long.

Players discussed on this week's episode include Jamie Benn, Evgeni Malkin, Steven Stamkos, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman, Tyler Seguin, Patrick Eaves, Blake Wheeler, Kevin Shattenkirk, Rick Nash, Mats Zuccarello, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Alex Edler, TJ Oshie, Zach Parise, Brian Gionta, Corey Perry, Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews, Stan Mikita, Elmer Lach and more.

No. 59 - Fontaine of Youth

After an entire season's worth of adds, drops, trades, waiver claims, injuries, outjuries, slumps, streaks and snoozers, it all comes down to this! And, of course, we're here to help you go for gold-- or bronze-- with the final 2014-15 regular season edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast!

This week's show kicks off with the outjuries that could help put you over the top, including two top 9 forwards in Winnipeg, a top 6 forward in Ottawa, and a top ??? forward in Manhattan.

This week's look at injuries and their ripple effects includes the Tampa Bay blue line, a shuffled up forward group in St. Louis, Jets defensemen (a recurring topic..), Calgary's goalie crease, and the outlook for one of the hottest lines in hockey that, believe it or not, belongs to the Oilers.

Speaking of goalie creases, this episode also features a quick look around the league at goalies that may be able to help you out for a game or two over the final week of the season.

Finally, Elan and Brian cover off some of the latest streakers that you may be able to pluck from free agency and hopefully count amongst your playoff MVPs, including a backup(?) goalie in Detroit, even-strength excellencies in Minnesota and New York, a finally-emerging rookie in Washington, a trio of Sabres, a trio of Sharks, and a greybearded Panther.

The episode wraps up with another tribute to the teams that are gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Players mentioned on this week's episode include Victor Hedman, Nikita Nesterov, Slater Koekkoek, Patrik Berglund, Paul Stastny, Dmitri Jaskin, Jori Lehtera, Zbynek Michalek, Jason Garrison, Dustin Byfuglien, Jacob Trouba, Toby Enstrom, Tyler Myers, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Benoit Pouliot, Mikko Koivu, Karri Ramo, Bryan Little, Mathieu Perreault, Marty St. Louis, Clarke MacArthur, Petr Mrazek, Jimmy Howard, Alex Stalock, Andrew Hammond, Craig Anderson, Anders Lee, Kevin Hayes, Juston Fontaine, Cam Talbot, Marcus Foligno, Brian Gionta, Rasmus Ristolainen, Jiri Hudler, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Patrick Marleau, Matthew Nieto, and Chris Tierney.
